1000 Lives community champions and partner organisations meet at Network events for mutual support.

Stoke 1000 Lives Community Connection Events

With our Know Your Neighbourhood Funding for Stoke 1000 Lives, we are holding monthly Community Connection events hosted by different organisations in communities around Stoke on Trent.

These events bring like-minded people together who care about our communities. At the events we share ideas and find out how to make a difference together. The events are for everyone. We want to make sure you feel welcome.

  • Meet people and share experiences of volunteering and social action.
  • Find out how to get involved!
  • Share information, experiences, skills and resources!
  • Join in and have fun!

The next event will be hosted by MAC, at Fenton Community Hall on Wednesday 6th March from 10am to 1pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

The first event was hosted by Under One Roof community heritage project at St Mark’s Church in Shelton on 14th October 2023.

We had events hosted by Middleport Matters in December 2023, B Arts at their Climate Cafe in January 2024, online on Zoom in January 2024 for the Great Winter Get Together, and a Raising Voices Chat for Change event hosted by Birches Head Get Growing at the Bridge Centre in February 2024.

Got It Want It events

At every event we create an online Got It Want It wall, and have talks and group discussion to share our know-how, skills and stuff!

With All the Small Things we organised regular Community Share Network events for Totally Stoked in 2022 and 2023.

In 2021, for Volunteers Week, we held two online events.

We organised the events by working together with people from VOICES of Stoke, Expert Citizens and All the Small Things CiC.

In 2023 we plan to organise events together – at least one face to face indoors and one outdoors, and one online, to include more people.

On the 2nd June 2021 the Big Workshop Day had 11 really interesting workshops.

Read all about the workshops and download the information on the Big Workshop Day page.

We have held events in Bentilee, Burslem, Shelton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke town, Blurton, Sneyd Green, Meir, Hanley and Middleport.

Celebration events are open to everyone. We invite people to nominate community champions. In 2013 we had a celebration event just for young people.
