1000 Lives training programme

Some of the 1000 Lives training courses and workshops are run by the 1000 Lives team and some are provided by 1000 Lives Partners.

Big Workshop Network events.

The last Big Workshop event was online Wednesday 2nd June 2021 for Volunteers Week.

Community Organising training

The 1000 Lives Local Organising Group is for who are interested in Community Organising, to take social action together in North Staffs. We have training and support from All the Small Things who are a Social Action Hub. The training gives you a Certificate from Community Organisers Ltd.

1000 Lives training

We used to work in partnership with Staffordshire University. Over 7 years we trained over 50 people in skills for community action and community leadership. The courses offered people a level 3 qualification.

Speaking Up– Community Champions course

This course is for people who want to volunteer or to speak up about things that are important to them in their community.

Taking Part – Community Champions course

This course is for people who are already active in their community and want to develop skills as leaders for working with other people and project planning.

Get Talking community research course

Get Talking is a course to train people in community research skills to do community consultation.

Some 1000 Lives Network members were trained and supported to be part of the Get Talking Hardship community research team in 2019. We listened to people’s attitudes to and experiences of poverty in Stoke on Trent, for the Hardship Commission. You can read the Get Talking Hardship Report here.
