1000 Lives training
We used to work in partnership with Staffordshire University. Over 7 years we trained over 50 people in skills for community action and community leadership. The courses offered people a level 3 qualification.
Speaking Up– Community Champions course
This course is for people who want to volunteer or to speak up about things that are important to them in their community.
Taking Part – Community Champions course
This course is for people who are already active in their community and want to develop skills as leaders for working with other people and project planning.
Get Talking community research course
Get Talking is a course to train people in community research skills to do community consultation.
Some 1000 Lives Network members were trained and supported to be part of the Get Talking Hardship community research team in 2019. We listened to people’s attitudes to and experiences of poverty in Stoke on Trent, for the Hardship Commission. You can read the Get Talking Hardship Report here.
Penny Vincent and Carmel Murphy are the lead facilitators of the 1000 Lives training team.
If you think you would like to join the training team – to support other learners, to organise the training or to lead a workshop, please let Penny know.
