All the Small Things CiC host the Network. The 1000 Lives project team is made up of paid workers and volunteers who work together to develop the 1000 Lives Network.

If you would like to offer your skills too help develop the 1000 Lives Network, we would love to hear from you.

Lynne Ball – 1000 Lives Facilitator

lynne ball photoHello, I volunteer at several projects in my community.  I am currently the food bank manager at Open Door in Fenton and at Sanctus at St Mark’s Church in Shelton.  Open Door is a community café for the vulnerable in our community.  We offer a free hot breakfast in a warm safe place.  Here people can meet new friends, get a food parcel or get the support that they need.  Sanctus is a support group for refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK.

I am a Foundation Governor at St Mark’s Primary School in Shelton.  I am passionate about the education of children in our city as primary school gives them the foundation to learn skills.  Our children deserve the best so that they can achieve everything that they want to.

Being a volunteer has had a massive impact on my life.  I try to do one act of kindness a day.  People just need to be given the chance to use the skills that they have and learn new ones.  I believe that you should never stop learning.  Just think what you can achieve and make our communities a happier place to live.

I joined the team in October 2014. I organise events, look after the emails, support Champions to get involved in the Network, and do outreach talks. I look after the 1000 Lives budget. I do some of the training on 1000 Lives courses and I am a peer mentor.

I am a Director of All the Small Things CiC.

Penny Vincent – 1000 Lives Facilitator

humans of stoke pv feb 2018Hello, I work part time at Staffordshire University in the Creative Communities Unit.  I work on projects, do research and run courses to do with volunteering, active citizenship and community participation. I develop activities to introduce people to the University who have not studied before and to bring the University and communities together.

I worked as a manager in public and voluntary services for many years before coming to Staffs Uni in 2007. I was a community development worker, and was involved in community planning, partnership-working and public service improvement. Every job I’ve had since I left University has involved me in training volunteers and paid workers.

I have been a volunteer since I was a teenager, including being a Trustee and Chair at Mind in North Staffs from 1998 -2006 and currently a Trustee of the Cultural Sisters. I am a member of the Photographers Collective North Staffs.

Community Champions make the world go round. People are who active in their community, as volunteers,  can achieve great things if we work together and learn from each other. 1000 Lives is all about that! I organise events and training and the peer mentoring. I keep in touch with our partners and our funders.

I am a Director of All the Small Things CiC.
